
PENWORTHAM AUTUMN SHOW
The Autumn show is a community event for all ages, designed to show case all creative talents and skills. The show includes competitive entry for vegetables, fruit, flowers, houseplants, sewing, art and craftwork, flower arranging, baking, jam making and photography.
The first show was held in October 2014 and was an overwhelming success, with over 400 entries and hundreds of people enjoying an afternoon of excitement for the winners of the show trophies, delicious tea and cakes, BBQ and information from a variety of linked crafts and growers such as Booths, Jason Coxhead and beetroots, Bee Keeping and apple pressing. Food demonstrations from Lancashire Life food editor Phillipa James were enjoyed by many.
At the event in 2014 there was a tea room, cooking demonstrations and planting for winter. There was alot to see in the entries from Celebrity Scarecrows to patchwork, skilled artistry to stunning flower displays.
The Show committee have used the feedback from the events to shape the future events. In 2018 the show will be held on Saturday 29th September 12 noon -4pm at Penwortham united Reformed Church Hall.
